Seed Library

Coraopolis Memorial Library Seed Program

Our library is participating in a seed library program to encourage urban and suburban residents to grow nutritious food at home from seeds. Growers of all skill levels are invited to visit our seed library. We have plenty of gardening resource materials for you on our book shelves. Just ask us!

How does our seed library work?

While visiting the library, check out our wide selection of seeds! You do not need a library card to check out seeds. Pick out the seeds that you like and take them to the circulation desk, and we will record your seed packets, and you’re on your way. Since our seed library is just growing, our limit for 2024 is five packets per person.

Can I donate seeds?

Yes, you can! We can accept any vegetable or flower seeds that do well in our growing zone 6B.

Please use an envelope for the seeds and write down the name of the seeds, the Latin name for the seeds, and the year in which the seeds were collected. Donating seeds would also help us replenish our seed stock for the next growing season.
